Manchester City are reportedly considering a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.
City boss Pep Guardiola is still believed to be intent on signing a defensive midfielder this summer, having missed out on Jorginho to Chelsea earlier in the transfer window.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, City could move for the Italy midfielder in the final week of the summer window, although the deal hinges on Verratti expressing a willingness to leave ahead of the deadline.
Verratti has made over 230 appearances for PSG since a move from Pescara in 2012 and is believed to be a long-term target of Spanish champions Barcelona.
The 25-year-old scored twice and registered seven assists in 38 appearances for his French club during the 2017-18 campaign.
