Scottish Premiership champions Rangers are reportedly set to rival Manchester City for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain starlet Xavi Simons.
The 18-year-old midfielder is believed to be "seriously considering" a move away from the Parc des Princes when his contract expires next summer.
According to AS, newly-appointed head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst has identified his Dutch compatriot as a target in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
The report adds that Rangers have already held informal talks with the player's agent Mino Raiola and are willing to offer the youngster regular first-team football.
Rangers, however, face stern competition from Man City, who are understood to be preparing an approach to sign Simons on a free transfer in June 2022.
Simons, who originally came through Barcelona's famous La Masis academy, has made just two substitute appearances for PSG's senior side, both of which were last season, but has performed well in the UEFA Youth League this term, scoring two goals and providing five assists in five group games.
