Former England boss Glenn Hoddle has suggested that Louis van Gaal is yet to convince as manager of Manchester United.
The Dutchman took charge at Old Trafford last season and led them to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League, in addition to guiding them back into the Champions League.
However, Hoddle has said that he is unsure if United have progressed that much under the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss.
"I think the jury is still out on Manchester United and Louis van Gaal's reign there so far," Hoddle told BBC Sport.
"It's been okay, some good results, but for me they have not really been tested as yet, and that test will come round the corner, obviously.
"For me they would have to do a lot more if they have any possibility of going all the way in the Champions League."
United begin their Champions League campaign at PSV Eindhoven this evening.
