Juan Mata tips Marcus Rashford for greatness

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata believes that Marcus Rashford has what it takes to be a "great player" in the future.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has tipped Marcus Rashford to become a "great player" following his winning goal against local rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

The 18-year-old made it five goals in eight senior appearances for the club with his 16th-minute strike at the Etihad Stadium, becoming the youngest ever player to score in a Premier League Manchester derby.

Mata warned against expecting too much too soon from the youngster, but believes that Rashford has a bright future ahead of him.

"Marcus showed again that he is a great player in the making," the Spaniard wrote in his blog.

"We all believe in him, although we must remember that he's still very young and he's just arrived in the first team."

United's victory took them within one point of City in the race for Champions League football.
