David Moyes: 'My Manchester United players were overweight'

David Moyes claims that there were too many overweight players at Manchester United during his spell as manager.

David Moyes has claimed that there were too many overweight players at Manchester United during his spell in charge.

The current Real Sociedad boss lasted just 10 months at Old Trafford after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson, before being sacked in April last year.

The former Everton boss received criticism after banning the players from eating chips, but he has said that some members of his United squad needed to have their diets monitored.

"Yes, I did ban chips," he told FourFourTwo.

"It was because a couple of players were overweight and I didn't think chips were good for their diet."

Moyes was appointed Sociedad boss in November.
