David Moyes has reportedly turned to Mesut Ozil as his search for his first signing as manager of Manchester United continues.
The Premier League champions have been linked with Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, but as yet no deal has been concluded. Moyes has also seen two separate bids for Cesc Fabregas rejected by Barcelona.
As a result he has switched his attention to Real Madrid's Ozil, who would command a fee of around £40m, according to Spanish television show Punto Pelota.
The outlet went on to claim that the German international is aware of United's interest and may ask his employers to accept a bid should Gareth Bale arrive at the Bernabeu.
Ozil was heavily linked with the Red Devils back in 2010, but he opted for Madrid upon departing Werder Bremen.
