Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson is set to be out of action for eight weeks, according to Eddie Howe.
The number nine was forced off the pitch in stoppage time of the first half against Manchester United on December 27 due to a calf injury.
"He had a scan yesterday, because there was a slight doubt over his initial scan and we needed to let it heal a bit further," Howe told the press.
"I think he's going to be out for eight weeks."
The 29-year-old has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this season for Newcastle, finding the back of the net six times in the process.
The Magpies are now reportedly looking to sign a striker within this month in a bid to provide some cover during Wilson's absence.
