Gary Hooper has revealed that he joined Norwich City to boost his chances of receiving an England call-up.
The 25-year-old striker, who has yet to make an appearance for the Three Lions at any level, recently signed a four-year deal at Carrow Road following three years with Celtic.
"I wanted to play in the Premier League and to try to get an England call-up," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "I think there's a good chance of that.
"You don't really get a look in up there [in Scotland]. Down here you've got more chance. The main thing is playing, getting on the pitch first, and doing what I do.
"To play for your country is anyone's dream, but my first dream is to play in the Premier League."
Norwich will get the new season underway at home to Everton on August 17.
