Norwich City striker James Vaughan has become the latest footballer to receive racist abuse.
The 23-year-old suffered the abuse on Twitter and his club have passed the details on to the police, who are now investigating the incident.
Norwich's chief executive David McNally has issued his thanks to supporters who brought the abuse to his attention.
"Thank you for the information regarding racist tweets. We have handed details to the police and cannot comment any further," McNally wrote on Twitter.
Vaughan joined the Canaries during the summer from Everton.
