Rangers have made former Hearts midfielder Jason Holt their seventh signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old has penned a three-year contract with the Scottish Championship club after impressing while on trial.
Despite moving to Ibrox Stadium as a free agent, the Gers have paid Hearts compensation because Holt came up through the ranks at Tynecastle Stadium.
The Scot has previously played on loan for Raith Rovers and Sheffield United.
"You get to these points in your career and you need different challenges and it is just part and parcel of the game," he told the club's official website. "Throughout people's careers you come and go so I am just delighted to get this done and finally be here.
"It did hurt a wee bit leaving Tynecastle. I am a Hearts fan but it is part of football and now I am a Rangers player and my full focus is on this club."
Holt has won a total of 17 caps for his country at Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
