Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that Ferland Mendy will miss Saturday's La Liga contest with Villarreal but should be available against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The 26-year-old was absent against Granada last weekend due to a hamstring problem but has been training alongside his teammates this week.
Speaking during Friday's pre-match press conference, Ancelotti ruled first-choice left-back Mendy out of the contest with the Yellow Submarine.
However, the France international is expected to be fit for Real Madrid's Champions League last-16 first leg away to PSG on Tuesday night.
"Mendy's not ready for tomorrow's game, but he should be ok for Tuesday," Ancelotti told reporters.
Karim Benzema has also been ruled out of this weekend's contest with Villarreal, but the France international is winning his fight to be available for selection against Mauricio Pochettino's side in the European Cup.
