Real Sociedad have re-signed Asier Illarramendi from Real Madrid on a permanent contract.
The 25-year-old joined Los Blancos from Sociedad in 2013 for a figure in excess of £23m.
The midfielder struggled to settle at the Bernabeu, however, and had been linked with a number of European clubs this summer.
Sociedad have won the race to bring the Spaniard back to San Sebastian, with the transfer now being confirmed by both clubs.
It is understood that Illarramendi has signed a six-year deal at his former club, who have paid £12m for his services.
"Real Madrid and Real Sociedad have agreed the transfer of the player Asier Illarramendi," read a statement on Real Madrid's official Twitter.
