Republic of Ireland midfielder David Meyler believes that he and his teammates can make the most of Germany's recent dip when they face the world champions this evening.
Joachim Low's side will host Ireland in tonight's Euro 2016 qualifier three days after they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Poland.
"I just couldn't believe it [on Saturday] because Germany had chances but couldn't convert them," the Irish Times quotes Meyler as saying. "But that just shows you if you apply yourself in the right way, we will get chances, but we've got to take them - that's the most important thing.
"I think [the German players] will be annoyed with themselves for losing but it shows us we can go there and put up in a performance and get a result out there."
Ireland head into the contest following a convincing 7-0 victory over Gibraltar.
