Ledley King insists that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale is "happy" at the club, despite reports of a possible exit.

Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King has insisted that Gareth Bale is "happy" at White Hart Lane.

The Wales international, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, has himself insisted that he is focused on the upcoming campaign with the North London outfit.

"The season he had last year was a big part of our achievements, and he knows we'll be looking to do the same this season," King told Sky Sports News.

"I know Gareth's happy, he's come back in good spirits and I'm hoping he's going to have a good season again."

Recent reports have emerged claiming that Madrid are prepared to lodge an £85m bid for Bale.
