Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester City would comfortably win the Premier League if they had managed to sign Harry Kane over the summer.
The Citizens were strongly linked with the England captain during the recent transfer window but could not convince Tottenham Hotspur to sell their star player.
Man City twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, but Pep Guardiola's side struggled to test the home side's goalkeeper Alisson Becker for long stages.
Neville has said that the league would be "done" had the reigning champions managed to convince Spurs to part with Kane over the summer.
"I know Pep likes to play with a team of midfielders, but there is that doubt that exists only through them lacking a striker. If Manchester City had Harry Kane, I'm telling you now this league is done," Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast.
"It would be done. Forget the form that Kane is currently in. Against Liverpool with those City players, he'd have definitely taken one of those chances in the first half. He's gold, so he'd remove any doubt that I have about City."
Man City are currently third in the Premier League table, one point behind second-placed Liverpool and two points off leaders Chelsea heading into the international break.
