Tim Sherwood: Frank de Boer speculation is "disappointing"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood says that it is "disappointing" to hear reports that the club have spoken to Ajax boss Frank de Boer over replacing him.

Tim Sherwood has said that reports that Tottenham Hotspur have spoken to Frank de Boer about the managerial job at the club are "disappointing".

The Ajax boss claimed earlier this week that the North London side had contacted the Dutch champions over the possibility of him replacing Sherwood at the end of the season, although Spurs have denied this.

The current manager told Sky Sports News: "When clubs are coming out and saying Tottenham have actually spoken to them and managers are coming out and saying they've spoken to them too, it's disappointing.

"Somewhere along the line someone is telling porkies, I don't know for sure. Tottenham are not making any comment on that until the season finishes. So I'm just carrying on as I normally do, being as professional as I can and preparing the team.

"I just get on with it. There's not a press conference I've done since I took over when another name hasn't been mentioned. I've just got to get on with the job. The fans deserve that."

Spurs face West Ham United on Saturday.
