Queens Park Rangers have reportedly lowered their asking price for striker Charlie Austin to £13m.
The former Burnley frontman has been linked with moves to both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United over the summer, although the R's were thought to be looking for nearer £15m.
However, The Mirror claims that Newcastle made a fresh inquiry regarding the Englishman's availability and were told that his price had dropped, but that QPR are keen to have the fee paid in full.
It is thought that the Magpies still believe that Austin's valuation is too high, but that could give Spurs the chance to seal a move.
QPR were relegated from the Premier League last season.
