Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper has played down speculation linking him with Sheffield Wednesday.
Reports have suggested that the 48-year-old could become new manager Carlos Carvalhal's assistant at Hillsborough.
Cooper has one year left on his current deal with Swindon.
"Speculation was rife and I was linked to the job. I don't know if there was an approach. It's up to the chairman to comment on," he told BBC Sport.
"Nothing should surprise you in football. I've got a job to do, another season to go and I'm really looking forward to it. I think when jobs come up there is speculation, isn't there? When you've had a reasonable season you are going to be linked to jobs."
Swindon get their League One campaign underway at home to Bradford City on August 8.
