Jonathan Williams has been forced to pull out of the Wales squad for the vital upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium after picking up an injury playing for Ipswich Town on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was scythed down by Watford's Joel Ekstrand in Saturday's Championship game at Portman Road and is now expected to miss around a month of action with a groin injury.
Williams is on loan at Ipswich from Crystal Palace for a second time after making a big impression for the Tractor Boys at the back end of last season.
His second Suffolk stint hasn't gone quite as well, though, with niggling injuries limiting him to just four starts since re-joining the club in September.
"I've not really been able to have a full week of training since I've been here because I've had to manage my fitness during the week," Williams told the Ipswich website.
"It's always disappointing to miss out on games. It's exciting times for Wales. It's probably our best chance to qualify in a while.
"We've had two wins and a draw against a good Bosnia side. All the home nations have started well and we will be looking to qualify."
Palace were reportedly considering recalling Williams after Saturday's game against Watford. His loan at Ipswich is due to run until the New Year.
