Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has dismissed speculation that Dwight Gayle will leave the club on a loan basis.
Recent reports had suggested that the 24-year-old had been the subject of interest from clubs in the Championship, with Wolverhampton Wanderers thought to be particularly keen.
However, despite having conceded that Fraizer Campbell is currently his number one striker, Warnock has insisted that Gayle is still a key member of his squad at Selhurst Park.
"Dwight is going nowhere because he is far too important to us. It's unfortunate for him that Fraizer Campbell is playing as well as he is, otherwise he would be in the team," he told the Croydon Guardian.
Gayle, who joined Palace from Peterborough in July 2013, has scored five goals in all competitions this term.
