Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has claimed that he has an agreement with chief executive Gary Hetherington that will allow him to continue playing for the club for as long as he desires.

The 32-year-old, who made his debut for Leeds back in 1997, has just one year remaining on his current contract at Headingley. However, he says that he has an option to extend that deal.

Sinfield also suggests that watching his teammate Jamie Peacock, who is 36, has convinced him that he can continue playing for many years to come.

"I've got another year and then I've got an agreement with Gary where he has said 'as long as you're happy playing here there will always be a contract for you'," Sinfield told the Yorkshire Post.

"I won't make any decisions about it now. I think what JP has done is really smart. I have an idea in my head about how long I'd like to play but we'll see. I'd like to think I've got a good few years left."

Sinfield will make his 500th career appearance tonight as the Rhinos travel to the Twickenham Stoop to face the London Broncos.
