Former South Africa coach Nick Mallett is still believed to be interested in the England job, despite Stuart Lancaster being favourite to take the position.
Lancaster increased his chances of being named the new coach after he guided England to four wins in this season's Six Nations Championship.
However, Mallett is still determined to put himself in contention, according to the Daily Mail.
The 55-year-old last coached Italy before he stepped down at the end of 2011.
Both Mallett and Lancaster are expected to be interviewed by the RFU later this week.
