Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is reportedly closing in on a move to Arsenal after agreeing a four-year deal with the North London club.
The Japan international was previously expected to seal a switch to Tottenham Hotspur, who have since turned their attention to Barcelona's Emerson Royal.
As a result, Arsenal are reported to have made rapid progress in their bid to sign Tomiyasu, although a move is thought to be dependent on Hector Bellerin securing a loan transfer to Real Betis.
Now, Sky Sports News claims that Tomiyasu has agreed personal terms with Arsenal on a contract until the end of the 2024-25 season, with the option to extend the deal for another 12 months.
The outlet adds that the versatile 22-year-old is set to complete his medical in Italy later on deadline day before being announced as the Gunners' sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal will supposedly fork out an initial £16m to sign Tomiyasu, who prepares to leave Bologna after scoring three goals and setting up three more in 64 appearances.
