Chelsea will reportedly not stand in the way of Cesar Azpilicueta if the club legend wishes to join Barcelona this summer.

Chelsea reportedly have no intention of going against Cesar Azpilicueta's wishes regarding his future.

The Blues legend, who has won every club trophy during his decade-long stint at Stamford Bridge, has been heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona.

At one stage, the versatile defender was due to become a free agent, only for the 32-year-old to make a set number of appearances during 2021-22 to activate a 12-month extension.

Nevertheless, according to Marca, Chelsea officials will not force Azpilicueta to remain in West London if he would prefer to take on a new challenge.

The report claims that executives have previously informed the Spaniard that they provide him with the freedom to make the final decision on the next phase of his career.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Azpilicueta would request that he still be allowed to depart Chelsea on a free agent in order to wrap up a transfer to Camp Nou.
