The agent of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has said that Chelsea could complete a deal for his client on Friday.
The Blues have been strongly linked with the 28-year-old in recent weeks as they attempt to bring a new stopper to the club to replace the underperforming Kepa Arrizabalaga.
There was thought to be a hold up in the agreement with the French club allegedly informing Chelsea that they wanted to sign central defender Fikayo Tomori as part of the arrangement.
However, according to Djily Dieng, "the two parties have come to an agreement", meaning that a transfer could be completed and announced before the end of the week.
"The two parties have come to an agreement. All that's left is the formalisation," Dieng told Stades. "It could even be done tomorrow, if all goes well. Afterwards, the player will come to finalise everything, including having his medical examination."
Mendy will reportedly sign a five-year contract with Frank Lampard's side.
