Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew: 'West Brom deservedly beat us last season'

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says that West Bromwich Albion 'deserved' to beat his side last season, but hopes for a different result on Saturday.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his side 'deserved' to lose to West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park last season.

The Baggies, under former Palace boss Tony Pulis, executed a 2-0 triumph in South-East London.

On Saturday, Palace welcome West Brom to their ground once again, but Pardew is hoping for a different outcome.

"Tony knows a good portion of our squad and he knows me well," Pardew told reporters in this morning's press conference. "He knows I will try to attack him, his gameplan will be to stop us.

"Last year they deservedly won here, their gameplan was good. They're very organised and disciplined. The whole team has to defend - that's a requirement under Tony."

Palace have won four Premier League games and lost three so far this season, while West Brom have picked up two wins, two draws and three defeats.
