Everton defender Sylvain Distin has extended his stay at Goodison Park by signing a new one-year contract.
The 35-year-old, who is a regular in the Toffees' first team, was expected to put pen to paper on new terms at the Merseyside club this month.
It has now been confirmed by the Premier League outfit on their official website that the Frenchman will remain at the club until the summer of 2014.
The defender, who moved to Everton from Portsmouth in 2009, was due to come to the end of his contract at the end of the season.
