Mark Hughes has anticipated a "difficult afternoon" for his Stoke City team against a "quite incredible" Manchester City side on Saturday.
The Premier League champions host Stoke at Eastlands on the weekend fresh from a 3-1 win over last year's runners-up Liverpool on Monday.
Consequently, Hughes, who had a brief one-year spell at the Etihad as manager, is predicting a tough test against Manuel Pellegrini's charges.
"They have a quite incredible squad of players, and to be honest, it is tough for us to analyse them and have a clear indication of what they may do on the day," he told reporters.
"It's impossible to second guess what Mr Pellegrini is going to do because of the options he has available to him. I watched them on Monday night, and for an hour they were absolutely fantastic.
"It will be a very difficult afternoon for us for sure. I am looking forward to going back there, though."
Saturday's clash kicks off at 3pm.
