Paris Saint-Germain president rules out Neymar sale

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi categorically rules out a summer exit for Neymar, amid links with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has told Real Madrid and Barcelona to forget about signing Neymar at the end of the season.

The Brazilian forward has been regularly linked with a switch back to La Liga ever since leaving Camp Nou in a record £198m transfer nearly 18 months ago.

Barca are reportedly keen to add Neymar to their squad in time for the 2019-20 season, with Philippe Coutinho potentially being sacrificed as part of a player-plus-cash deal, while Madrid are after a superstar player to appease supporters.

However, Al-Khelaifi has insisted that the 27-year-old is at the Parc des Princes to stay, telling Marca: "Neither Real Madrid, nor any other club in the world, needs to call us about Neymar or any other player.

"Real Madrid know perfectly well that Neymar is not for sale and that the player won't leave PSG this summer. We have a fantastic relationship with Neymar and his father and it is built to last a long time.

"He's an extraordinary player and person. He shows a great ability to sacrifice and great character to overcome this new injury. He has been recovering in Paris, also in Barcelona and now in Brazil. It's what was expected since the start by the club's doctors."

Neymar, who has also been touted as a £262m target for Manchester United, is expected to return from injury in April.
