Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that Manchester United have not contacted the Gunners regarding a move for Mesut Ozil.
With the midfielder having just over six months remaining on his contract, a number of clubs - including United - have been linked with an offer for the German international.
However, while claiming that he is unsure over any progress in negotiations with Ozil, Wenger has reiterated that the playmaker will not be leaving North London before the end of the season.
The Frenchman told reporters: "How close? I don't know how close. We have never been approached by Man United anyway so I don't see why that came up.
"That is something that has been created. [He'll stay] until the end of the season, the rest is open."
While Ozil has contributed two goals and five assists in 14 Premier League appearances this season, none has come in his last three outings for the club.
