Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has revealed that he is hopeful the club can complete a deal to sign Inter Milan midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.
The 23-year-old was spotted in the stands at the Britannia Stadium during the Potters' 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, having been heavily linked with a move to the club throughout the summer.
Hughes has admitted that his side are looking to seal a deal for Shaqiri, but is adamant that it is far from over the line.
He told Sky Sports News: "It is a deal we hope to conclude and we would be delighted but nothing is certain in the transfer window."
Everton have also been linked with a move for the Switzerland international.
