Stoke City assistant manager Mark Bowen has confirmed the club's interest in reported Liverpool target and Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.
Speculation is rife that the Reds are plotting a summer move for the Swiss international, who has also courted interest from Inter Milan this month.
Although Bowen admits that competition will be fierce to land Shaqiri, Mark Hughes's assistant is refusing to believe that a deal is impossible.
"To get a good player like him on board would be fantastic," he told BBC Sport. "There are other clubs interested, but it doesn't mean we rule ourselves out.
"He's definitely on the list, but there is competition for a player of his ability."
Former Barcelona starlet Bojan Krkic joined the Potters in the summer and has enjoyed a productive maiden season in the Premier League thus far.
Shaqiri, whose contract expires in 2016, has started just five games for the German giants in all competitions this season.
