James Tomkins vows to fight for place at West Ham United

James Tomkins vows to fight for his place in the West Ham United starting lineup after being forced out for their last two games.

West Ham United defender James Tomkins has vowed to fight for his place in the team at Upton Park.

The 26-year-old has been named on the bench for the Hammers' last two games after starting their opening match of the season.

Despite being forced out of the starting XI in recent weeks, Tomkins is determined to win his spot back.

"I am willing to fight for my position and it is something I strive on," he told the club's official website. "You have got to better yourself every time you go out onto the training field. I am looking forward to seeing what the team is on Saturday and hopefully I will be playing."

West Ham travel to Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
