West Ham boss Sam Allardyce expects Nene to be match fit in two weeks' time

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce reveals that new signing Nene will need around two weeks to build up his match fitness.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that new signing Nene will not feature for the team for around two weeks.

The former Paris Saint-Germain forward signed for the Hammers on a free transfer this week and will remain at the club until the end of the season.

However, Allardyce revealed in today's press conference that Nene needs time to build up his match fitness.

"Nene isn't ready physically yet," he told reporters. "He's just started training with us, it'll be about 10 days maybe two weeks before he's ready. It's great to have a player like Nene, with his CV, at the club. We're all looking forward to seeing him play."

The forward became a free agent after leaving Al-Gharafa last month.
