Luke Varney completes loan move to Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town confirm that Luke Varney has joined the club from Blackburn Rovers on a one-month loan deal.

Ipswich Town have confirmed that Luke Varney has joined the club on a one-month loan deal from Blackburn Rovers.

The 32-year-old was expected to sign for the Tractor Boys as cover for injured Noel Hunt, who will miss the rest of the season due to a knee ligament problem.

Manager Mick McCarthy told the club's official website: "Luke is an experienced striker who knows what the Championship is all about, as well as playing in the Premier League and he fits in with what we are looking for in a player. We're delighted to have him here."

It has also been confirmed that the initial loan deal can be extended until the end of the season if both parties come to an agreement.
