Castleford Tigers thrash Hull Kingston Rovers in Super League

Castleford Tigers hammer Hull Kingston Rovers 54-12 to win their third consecutive match in the Super League.

Castleford Tigers have thrashed Hull Kingston Rovers 54-12 at home to win their third consecutive match in the Super League.

Michael Channing and Luke Dorn scored two tries apiece during a rampant first half for the hosts, while Grant Millington and Kirk Dixon also touched down.

Despite Marc Sneyd being able to convert only two of those scores, the Tigers finished the opening 40 minutes with a 28-0 advantage.

Hull started the second period positively, and they were rewarded on 46 minutes when Travis Burns converted his own try.

However, Sneyd added the extras to Jamie Ellis's score on 54 minutes before Dorn completed his hat-trick six minutes later to see Castleford run away with the contest.

Jake Webster, Craig Huby and Jamie Clare all went over for the Tigers during the final 15 minutes, while Sneyd added two more points with the boot.

Hull made the scoreline slightly less embarrassing at the death through Wayne Ulugia's try, but it was scant consolation on a sorry afternoon for Craig Sandercock's side.
