How Crystal Palace could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Crystal Palace could line up for Wednesday night's Premier League match against Manchester United at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson finds his options severely limited by injuries for Wednesday's visit of Manchester United, with as many as 10 first-team players set to miss the match or with doubts hanging over their fitness.

By far the highest-profile possible absentee is Wilfried Zaha, who is set to miss the match against his former club despite Hodgson providing a positive update on his fitness.

The winger scored twice in the reverse fixture and is expected back "very, very soon", although Wednesday's match may still be too short a turnaround as the Ivory Coast international comes back from a thigh injury.

Zaha is one of a host of players who could be missing for the Eagles, with Tyrick Mitchell the latest to join that list of absentees.

Nathaniel Clyne, James McArthur, Mamadou Sakho, Wayne Hennessey, Nathan Ferguson and James Tomkins are among those still in a packed treatment room for the Eagles at the moment, although McArthur and Ferguson have now entered the final stages of their recoveries.

In more positive news, Connor Wickham and Jeffrey Schlupp are both back available for the hosts and could be included in the squad.

Christian Benteke played the full 90 minutes at the weekend and Hodgson talked up his performance after the match, but he could bring Jean-Philippe Mateta back into the starting lineup for this game as he looks to keep his squad fresh.

The January arrival netted his first goal for the club in style against Brighton & Hove Albion last month but was left as an unused substitute for the stalemate with Fulham on Sunday.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup: Guaita; Ward, Kouyate, Cahill, Van Aanholt; Milivojevic, Riedewald; Townsend, Eze, Ayew; Mateta
