Sam Ricketts demands Swindon Town focus

Sam Ricketts urges his Swindon teammates to be completely focused for their League One playoff final against Preston.

Sam Ricketts has warned his Swindon Town teammates to be 'ready for anything' when they play Preston North End in the League One playoff final.

The two sides go head to head at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with the winner sealing a place in the Championship next season.

Ricketts, who is currently on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, believes that Swindon will need to be fully focused during the match if they want to end the afternoon victoriously.

"You need to be mentally ready, you need to be tactically ready, you need to be ready for eventualities," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "You need to be ready if you're winning with 10 minutes to go, if you're losing with 10 minutes to go, if they play one formation - you need to have all the answers.

"When we get there on Sunday it will be all about the football. It's a hugely talented team and hopefully we can produce the performance we know we can do and get the result we want."

Swindon defeated Sheffield United over two legs to book their place in the playoff final, while Preston saw off Chesterfield.
