Olivier Giroud: 'Arsenal need another striker'

Olivier Giroud believes that Arsenal need to buy another striker before the summer transfer window shuts.

Olivier Giroud has claimed that Arsenal need to buy another striker before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners, who are currently struggling with a number of injuries, saw their Premier League campaign get off to a losing start on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa.

"In my opinion, it is important that the club sign another striker but it takes time, especially if it is a big-name player," Goal.com quotes Giroud as saying.

"I know what my job is and what I'm capable of. I just focus on myself and my ability. The manager is counting on me so I'm not thinking about [new signings] too much."

Arsenal return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Fenerbahce in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying playoff.
