Andrea Berta: 'Diego Costa won't be leaving'

Atletico Madrid technical director Andrea Berta claims that Diego Costa won't be leaving the club this month.

Atletico Madrid technical director Andrea Berta has claimed that Diego Costa won't be leaving Vicente Calderon "for at least another year".

The striker has been a reported target for Chelsea, while Arsenal have also been rumoured to be showing an interest.

"[Costa] has managed to develop over the years thanks to his patience to wait for his opportunity," Berta told Tele Radio Stereo.

"He has very important qualities, much determination and competitiveness. He is a special player.

"Atletico are a club who, due to their nature, have to sell every year, but we believe that we can keep our players for at least another year."

Diego Simeone's side are second in La Liga.
