Javier Mascherano: 'Tie is not over'

Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano insists that their Champions League semi-final tie against Bayern Munich is not yet over, despite a 3-0 victory in the first leg.

Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has warned that their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich is not yet over as a contest.

The Catalan giants put one foot in the final courtesy of a 3-0 victory over the Bundesliga champions at Camp Nou this evening, with Lionel Messi grabbing two goals and an assist in the final 13 minutes.

Bayern were fortunate not to be behind in the opening exchanges as Pep Guardiola employed gung-ho tactics against his former club, and Mascherano was not surprised by the Spaniard's approach.

"It's a good advantage but it is not done. It's not done. Now we have to go in with the same mentality that we have today and try to do our job," the Argentine told Sky Sports News.

"We knew that Pep always in any pitch and any stadium will try to win, will try to play. They come to press higher, but sometimes when you go and press high you take risk, and we know that we have a lot of people in front with quality to make the difference.

"[Messi]'s a player that is impossible to describe him. It's just, you have to watch him. So we are happy, we are happy because it's a good result but we need to think about the next week and try to do our job to be in the final."

The two sides will meet in the second leg at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
