Anderson: 'Man Utd wary of Newcastle's counter-attacking threat'

Manchester United's Anderson admits his side are wary of Newcastle's counter-attacking threat on Sunday.

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has admitted that his side are wary of the threat that Newcastle United pose on the counter-attack.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men travel to St James' Park on Sunday looking to get back to winning ways after their 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Although the Old Trafford club are looking to take all three points home with them from the North East, Anderson has revealed that they know how "dangerous" the Magpies can be.

"Newcastle have some very good players and we know they can be dangerous if the ball's high up the pitch," Anderson told United's official club website.

"We must try to keep the ball and not give away many fouls or throw-ins because if they counter-attack, they can score."

The Brazilian international scored his first goal of the season in the 2-1 win over Alan Pardew's side in the League Cup.
