Peter Schmeichel: 'I want to manage in England'

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel reveals that he is keen to work in England as a manager.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has revealed that he wants to manage in England one day.

Speaking on Goals on Sunday, Schmeichel said that he is currently in the process of completing his coaching badges with a view of going into management.

"I'm addicted to English football - it (the Premier League) is the best league in the world and so if I was going to work anywhere, it would be here," said the 49-year-old.

"I am sure I would get opportunities [to be a goalkeeping coach] but I don't want to work like a steward where I just work with one person, watch them for a couple of hours and then move on.

"I want to develop a group of players and move them on. Unfortunately, there aren't many jobs out there right now."

Schmeichel retired in 2003 after making 740 career appearances.
