Former Hull City boss Phil Brown believes that Queens Park Rangers should have released controversial captain Joey Barton.
The R's stripped the Englishman of the captaincy and fined him six weeks' wages following his behaviour against Manchester City on the last weekend of the season.
However, Brown has insisted that the club should have torn up the 29-year-old's contract.
"It's a difficult one, you can only say sorry so many times before you cry wolf. I thought QPR might have got rid of him," he told the BBC.
Brown left Hull in 2010 after four years with the club.
