Chris Mears, Jack Laugher take synchro gold at National Championships

The pair, who won gold at last year's Commonwealth Games, posted a total score of 410.28 across their six dives, including a best of 82.08 for their most ambitious dive - the forward 4.5 somersault tuck.

Second place went to 17-year-olds Ross Haslam and James Heatly with a final score of 355.08, while Sam Thornton and Jack Haslam took bronze with a score of 345.36.

Mears and Laugher will next compete as individuals in tomorrow's 3m event.
