Good morning folks! Another day of transfer activity awaits us as the new season draws ever closer. The big news from overnight concerns Angel di Maria, who has all but confirmed his switch to Paris Saint-Germain. The Manchester United midfielder has said that he is "very happy" to be linking up with the French club.

So, with Di Maria on his way out of Old Trafford, who will replace him? Barcelona winger Pedro has been touted as a possible signing, and Blaugrana boss Luis Enrique has suggested that the Spain international could join United this summer. Read more on that here.

Gonzalo Higuain has sparked speculation over his future after rejecting a new deal with Napoli yesterday. The Argentina striker has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League and, according to a report, Arsenal are set to sign him.

Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk has been linked with a move away from the Scottish Premiership champions this summer, with Southampton reportedly wanting to sign him. However, Van Dijk's manager Ronny Deila has insisted that the Saints have not made a bid for the Dutchman.

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj recently said that he expects to play alongside Wayne Rooney as a striker at Old Trafford this season. However, that might have to wait as it seems Sunderland are interesting in signing the Belgian on a season-long loan.

DONE DEAL! Striker Emile Heskey made his return to English football last year when he signed a short-term deal with Bolton Wanderers, and he's done enough to earn himself a contract extension. The Trotters have confirmed that the 37-year-old has penned a new one-year deal with the club.

There has been plenty of talk about Jordan Rhodes swapping Blackburn Rovers for Middlesbrough ahead of the start of the new season. Well, Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer has admitted that a bid has been received by the Ewood Park side, but that it was rejected.

DONE DEAL! Former Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo has found a new club just a couple of weeks after having his contract terminated by the Saints. The Italian has joined Portuguese side Porto:


DONE DEALS! Bolton Wanderers have had a busy morning! As well as confirming that Emile Heskey has penned a contract extension, the Trotters have announced that Lawrie Wilson and Stephen Dobbie have both joined on free transfers.

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur could look to sign another striker before the end of the transfer window.

BREAKING NEWS! Some good news for Aston Villa fans now, with defender Ciaran Clark signing a five-year contract extension with the club. More on that story here.

A bit more news involving Aston Villa, who have reportedly made a bid for Italy international Alessandro Diamanti. The Villans have been busy already this summer - are they about to boost their squad further?

Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has suggested that fellow countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic's ties to AC Milan could see the striker return to the club someday.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has suggested that he will not be thinking about the transfer window now that the new Premier League season is approaching, but has refused to rule out a move for Everton youngster John Stones. Find out what the Portuguese has been saying here.

BREAKING NEWS! Crystal Palace have made another new signing this summer in the form of ex-Wolves winger Bakary Sako. The Mali international has penned a three-year deal at Selhurt Park. More here.

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of former Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie on a two-year deal.

Someone else leaving the Premier League soon could be Fabio Borini. A report has claimed that the Serie A side Fiorentina are keen to sign the out of favour Liverpool striker.

Another deal that will not be happening is Fabricio Coloccini to Crystal Palace. Reports had tipped the Argentine to be reunited with Alan Pardew down at Selhurst Park, but the Palace manager has this afternoon confirmed that he has "no interest" in signing the centre-back.

Wigan Athletic manager Gary Caldwell has bolstered his squad for their upcoming League One campaign with the additions of Kevin McNaughton and Sean Murray.

Reading have sent forward Craig Tanner on loan to Plymouth Argyle on a six-month deal.

Leeds United executive director Adam Pearson has refused to rule out further signings after the club completed the capture of Brentford winger Stuart Dallas.

Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of USA international striker Aron Johannsson from AZ on a four-year deal.

A little more on the Angel di Maria transfer saga now... One source is reporting that the 27-year-old winger will be unveiled as a Paris Saint-Germain player tomorrow evening. More on that here.

It is also being reported this evening that Manchester United and Barcelona have agreed on a fee for Spanish forward Pedro. However, the Catalan club do not want the frontman to leave until after their UEFA Super Cup appearance next week.

Stoke City still appear busy in the transfer market, and the Daily Mail is now suggesting that the club's officials have met with Barcelona winger Adama Traore to discuss a possible move to the Potteries.

Micah Richards was announced as Aston Villa's new captain today. The club's centre-back has been speaking about how playing time influenced his move from Manchester City.
