Wolverhampton Wanderers put four past Huddersfield Town

Wolverhampton Wanderers earn a comfortable 4-1 away victory over hosts Huddersfield Town in the Championship, with the help of goal scorers Nouha Dicko and Benik Afobe.

Goals from Nouha Dicko and Benik Afobe helped to earn Wolverhampton Wanderers a comfortable 4-1 away win at Huddersfield Town in the Championship this evening.

Town's James Vaughan looked to set the game alight in the early stages when he took aim from range to fire just wide of the right post.

Wolves came back soon after to open the scoring with their first major attempt, as Rajiv van La Parra picked out a perfect through-ball for striker Dicko, who tucked home adroitly into the bottom corner.

Huddersfield looked to counter with something of their own through Harry Bunn, who produced a cross for Vaughan, but he headed wide of Tomasz Kuszczak's goal.

The hosts continued to search for a leveller before the interval and Ishmael Miller seemed pivotal to finding it, only for Kuszczak to deny the on-rushing Bunn inside the Wolves box.

The Wanderers keeper was on hand yet again right on the stroke of half time when he pulled off an outstanding save to deny Sean Scannell.

The home side were made to pay early on in the second half, when Sako's corner took a deflection off Huddersfield defender Conor Coady and flew into the back of the net.

Kenny Jackett's men sealed the three points with just under 30 minutes left to play thanks to promising forward Afobe, who drilled into the bottom-left corner following more impressive work from Van La Parra to make it 3-0.

Huddersfield seemed to be spurred on by conceding the third and they managed to pull one back no longer than two minutes later, this time as Scannell crossed into the box where Vaughan was alert to guide a finish beyond Kuszczak.

Wolves captured their fourth goal of the game in injury time, when Dicko grabbed his brace with a left-footed finish after collecting Afobe's enterprising through-ball.
