Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that left-back Brandon Williams could now be deployed on the right-hand side of the defence.
The 20-year-old started in that unfamiliar position against Watford on Saturday evening and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 FA Cup victory, which was just his third start of the campaign in all competitions.
The Englishman continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but Solskjaer praised his performance and feels that a position change could help bring out the best in him.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Solskjaer said: "I thought he had a very good game. Of course, he's not played for a while, he's playing on the right-hand side.
"We want him to go and be an attacking full-back and it might be easier for him on the right side. But very pleased with Brandon, one of the positives."
Southampton, Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen have all been linked with a move for Williams this month, and the defender himself is supposedly keen to head out on loan to another Premier League club.
