Queens Park Rangers takeover talks continue

Talks between Tony Fernandes and Bernie Ecclestone are to continue this week over a potential takeover of Queens Park Rangers.

Talks between Tony Fernandes and Bernie Ecclestone are to continue this week over a potential takeover of Queens Park Rangers.

Fernandes, a Malaysian businessman, is hoping to buy out Ecclestone's 66% stake in the club with Indian shareholder Lakshmi Mittal, who currently owns 33%.

Meanwhile, former Brazilian player and manager Dunga has set about recovering a £750,000 loan he claims to have made to the Loftus Road club in 2006.

"I loaned my money to QPR in good faith when they needed it and I am very disappointed that the new owners, who are very wealthy, are refusing to pay it back," the 47-year-old said in a statement released through his lawyers.

"I am fully confident in the English system of justice and that the court will help me recover my loans."

Rangers began their first Premier League campaign in 15 years with a 4-0 home defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
