Jack Wilshere: 'I have no desire to leave Arsenal'

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere insists that he has no desire to leave the club in the near future, despite being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Jack Wilshere has reiterated his desire to remain at Arsenal amid speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

The 23-year-old has been mooted with a switch to Manchester City over the summer after his struggles with injuries have blighted his career at the Gunners over the past two seasons.

However, Wilshere is adamant that he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium as he has no ambition to leave the club in the near future to make up the quota of home-grown players elsewhere.

"I definitely wouldn't go somewhere just because I'm a home-grown player. I'd want to be wanted by a club, I want to be wanted by Arsenal," Wilshere told reporters.

"I've grown up at Arsenal. As long as Arsenal want me, I'm happy."

Wilshere is expected to be in action when England take on Slovenia in their Euro 2016 qualifying clash on Sunday.
